 Elias Riera

Elias Elieo Riera Chonillo, an Ecuadorian national, was born on August 22, 1989, in La Troncal, a small town in Ecuador marked by economic hardship. At just 9 years old, after being abandoned by his father, Elias began working as a street vendor while attending school to help support his mother and five younger siblings.

In 2005, his courageous mother emigrated to the United States in search of a better future for her children. A year later, Elias made a bold decision: to follow her path and support her by crossing the sea by boat to the U.S., determined not to leave her behind.

Driven by resilience and a thirst for progress, Elias graduated as an agronomic engineer, earning high recognition in mathematics. He quickly learned English by taking courses at Queens College in New York. At the same time, he started working in construction at age 17, proving himself to be an intelligent, observant worker with strong leadership abilities.

With over 19 years of experience in New York and New Jersey, Elias has contributed to countless construction projects, including buildings, foundations, and demolitions. His impressive resume includes roles as General Foreman, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent, Master Rigger, Scaffolding Supervisor, Suspended Scaffold Supervisor, Lift Director, Tower Crane Jumper, and certified OSHA Instructor.

Today, Elias is a proud immigrant whose ambition, work ethic, and dedication make him a role model for others. A devoted father of three and loving husband, he remains his mother’s greatest pride. His journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, sacrifice, and the immigrant spirit that builds more than just structures—it builds legacy.
